The wine regions we cover, and what each day is like
Every region below is a different kind of day. Drive times are from our Thousand Oaks office, so a pickup nearer the coast or the valley will differ.
- Malibu — thirty to forty minutes. Canyon roads and ocean views, and the shortest wine day we run.
- Ventura Wine Trail — tasting rooms close enough to home for a short evening rather than a whole day.
- Santa Barbara — about an hour and fifteen. Two quite different days: the walkable Urban Wine Trail inside the city, or over San Marcos Pass into the valley.
- Santa Ynez Valley — about an hour and forty. Los Olivos village on foot, plus Ballard Canyon and Happy Canyon. The best balance of drive time and number of stops.
- Buellton and Solvang — an hour and forty to an hour and fifty. Both are walkable from one drop-off, and Buellton’s Industrial Way is the one tasting-room street in the valley with room to park a coach.
- Santa Maria Valley — the northern end of Santa Barbara County, and a day of its own rather than an add-on.
- Paso Robles — about four hours each way. Honestly better as an overnight. We will run it as a day trip, but we will tell you what that means before you book.
- Los Angeles — urban tasting rooms and downtown wine bars, with no long drive at either end.
- Temecula — the furthest south we go, and a large concentration of wineries in one valley.
Wine tours are $199 an hour, with a three-hour minimum on weekdays and on weekend tours that finish by 3:30 PM. Coaches, overnight charters and one-way transfers are quoted per trip, and every quote is in writing.
